I can't think of any other reason why the install would be choking on the processor. I think he is actually referring to the AlienFX software, which controls the lighting on the 630 chassis.

I just dont understand. Have you tried resetting the BIOS by clearing the CMOS? Or maybe a clean install of Windows?

Maybe there is some sort of software conflict. Also try uninstalling Nvidia Performance application and delete all profiles. Restart and try reinstalling the application. There were two folders 'x64' and x'86'. When using the installer in the x64 folder, I received that error and was unable to install. Just a moment ago, I gave the installer in the x86 folder a try. Installation was successful.

Hello everyone, I've recently got my hands on a Dell XPS 630i desktop with Win Vista Home Premium, however I would love to get this machine back on WinXP home or prof, but if I try to start up from the winxp disk, when the installation comes to the point of setting up the partitions and what now, I get a STOP BSOD message every time. Using the Nvidia Control Panel, I had set the LED's to a nice teal-like color, mixing the green and blue set to 12 each, with red at 0. However, I noticed I don't have any 'mixing' options with AlienFX and have to go with the preset colors.

I don't suppose there are more options available? Or a program similar to this, that would provide these features (I supposedly can set the LED's to change color when I receive an email? Yet there aren't any settings to configure???and a quick test yields no change in color) but offer more flexibility?
