Sino Sds2ms Manual
I fitted a Sino SDS-2MS Dro to my mill last year. It's been very reliable and accurate, but I am having problems setting up the pcd hole pattern function. The Dro was supplied by Machine DRO, but came with a manual for a later model, SDS6. I was assured that this manual also covered the SDS2, but I have found that while most of the functions are the same, the data entry steps for some functions such as pcd don't work.
Now I guess this could be a hardware fault, but before I go down that route I want to be quite sure I am following the correct set up steps for this model dro. Machine DRO can't supply the correct manual for some reason, and I've got nowhere trying to communicate with the manufacturer. Does anyone know of a source of the correct manual, or if you have such a manual would you be willing to copy some pages for me? Thanks Moderator May be the way you are entering the data, have a look at this about using the DRO there are two ways it can be done, either enter one more hole and have the finish as (start + 360) or enter exact number of holes and finish 360/n deg from start. It's not to do with the number of holes. The problem occurs when I try to enter the pitch circle diameter after entering the centre coordinates. The data usually displays with the decimal point in the wrong place, and I can see no way to edit.
If I come out of pcd mode and start again it sometimes works correctly! I was hoping that the correct manual might show some step I am missing. I had a problem with setting PCD details on my SINO SDS6-2V until I changed the count direction to:- Y -Ve, table towards you X -Ve, table moves to the left Ian Here's a link for you.I found the video's very useful. I had same problem and contacted Andy at machine -dro who pointed the way. Regards, Bob. Mike On my Sino SDS2MS the PCD and other advanced functions only work properly in metric units.
Some of the toys went from pram to, probably, geostationary orbit during the learning process until I twigged this! Machine-DRO, or rather Allendale as they then were sent me their revised and translated version of the manual which was great improvement on the Chinglish but still not completely clear in places. Especially the PCD function. Plenty good enough for remind-me use when you've not used it for a while but not the best at expelling from nothing. I can't see how the polarity of the axes would affect the particular problem I'm having, but thanks for the suggestion. Bob/Clive I've gone through the videos and tried operating in metric mode only, but still get funnies.
